Satyagraha prisoners learned crafts and practical principles of self-sufficiency and self-discipline. Ahmadabad Textile Labor Association protested with Satyagraha, and became a model for Indian trade unions.

Lord, thank You that in our times of sorrow, we can find hope in You. When times of loss, grief and struggle enter our lives, Your presence gives us hope and strength to face each day. Help us to run to You for comfort, rather than becoming bitter over the sorrows of life. Remind us of Your promise of heaven, and help us to share it with those who have no hope.
