An Employment Prayer

Here's a wonderful prayer to assist you with the forgiveness process:

Oh Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek

To be consoled as to console,

To be understood as to understand,

To be loved as to love,

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned

And it is in dying that we are born

To eternal life.

- St. Francis of Assisi

With the economy as it is around the world, we may need to go… Continue

Easter prayer

May our celebration

raise us up and renew our lives!

Let us pray;

that the Risen Christ will raise us up

and renew our lives.

God our Father,

by raising Christ your Son

you conquered the power of death

and opened for us the way to eternal life.

Let our celebration today

raise us up and renew our lives

by the Spirit that is within us.

Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you and Holy… Continue

Mahatma Gandhi by Jennifer H. Pikul Continued......

Satyagraha prisoners learned crafts and practical principles of self-sufficiency and self-discipline. Ahmadabad Textile Labor Association protested with Satyagraha, and became a model for Indian trade unions.

Gandhi went nationwide with Satyagraha. It was a political downfall. A massacre occurred killing hundreds of Indians and wounding over a thousand. Gandhi called off the civil disobedience. He usually was released from jail because of his fasting which made him… Continue

Prayer for all

Lord, thank You that in our times of sorrow, we can find hope in You. When times of loss, grief and struggle enter our lives, Your presence gives us hope and strength to face each day. Help us to run to You for comfort, rather than becoming bitter over the sorrows of life. Remind us of Your promise of heaven, and help us to share it with those who have no hope. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

Mahatma Gandhi by Jennifer H. Pikul Continued......

Gandhi set forth to boycott courts and councils. It was a boycott to stop British rule. Gandhi wrote to the Viceroy returning his medals and decorations. Gandhi had served only one term as President of the Congress. People said that he was a super President.

He started having the Indians make Khadi, a hand spun cloth. It became the "livery of freedom." He did a boycott of foreign cloth. Gandhi each day spun cloth for half an hour. He also fasted every Monday.

In 1930,… Continue

Yoga and Meditation Classes in Public Schools News Update

Gwyneth Paltrow hit the red carpet for the Bent on Learning Benefit in New York City last Wednesday. The non-profit organization arranges yoga and meditation classes in the city's public schools. The 36-year-old actress has promoted her healthy living lifestyle on her website Goop, which the New York Times ridiculed as "fatuous" and "puzzling."

Mahatma Gandhi by Jennifer H. Pikul Continued......

Gandhi did experiments with fasting and dieting throughout his lifetime. He had a vow of brahmacharya (control of the sense-sexual and fasting). He thought you could use your energy for work.

He accepted an opening to work in South Africa as a counsel for a Muslim business. He received racial threats and violence in South Africa. During the South African Boer War of 1899-1902 and again in 1906 during the Zulu rebellion, he nursed plague-stricken patients shunned by others in… Continue

Mahatma Gandhi by Jennifer H. Pikul

Gandhi, Mohandas Karamchand, was born on October 2, 1869. He was born in Porbandor. That is the seaport capital of Kathiawar, now in the state of Gujarat. He was shot by a Hindu fanatic on January 30, 1948. On January 30, 1948, Gandhi died by 3 shots point blank from Nathuram Godse. Godse was a Brahman extremist. Gandhi fell dead from the shots. But with the few remaining moments, Mahatma Gandhi pronamed the killer. Godse thought, because of Gandhi's befriending Muslims, that Gandhi weakened… Continue

A Sense of Humor for the Musician in Us

Dear Ones, thought you might enjoy this joke:

What do you do with a horn player that can't play?

Give him two sticks, put him in the back, and call him a percussionist.

What do you do if he can't do that?

Take away one of the sticks, put him up front, and call him a conductor.

Have a great day!
